I always think about this when I do Tali Loyalty mission.
.
They were exiled of their home planet by a machine race that was their own creation and now live in a gigant fleet with no destiny.  The coucil kicked them out and all other races seens to think bad of them.
.
That would be acceptable if not by the fact that they are in this situation for centuries. They can't find a planet to call home. They almost don't have a military force, have few resources and always seens to be living on the edge. Even more, they have to live in a suit because theirs immune system is almost non existent.
.
They do have a superb tech skill, but look to where it lead them.
.
The best thing the Quarians could do when the Reapers arrive in to throw their fleet at the them... like a suicide run.

In Ascension, TIM badly wants access to the Migrant Fleet because he recognizes it as a force to reckon with. The majority of the ships are still armed and armored from the war with the Geth. Granted, some of them are 300 years old, but there's still thousands of them.

Their military force can't hold in a battle of attricion (as mentioned by Kal'Raaga), so they have to use hit and run tactics - but the asari forces do the same, so it's not a far comparision to say one is less then the other in that regard too.

The quarian society is remarkably self-sufficient and determind and, again in Ascention (as that's we get a good look at the quarians), the one of the main characters ends up admiring this hidden part of quarian society.

As for finding a planet to settle - it's been hard for them to find the right planet that is similar to their homeworld. Their homeplanets had symbiotic viruses (from memory) that benefitted. To find a similar ecosystem is next to impossible. Even when their immune system wasn't shot to hell, they had trouble settling other planets and had to go through gene-therpy and had to adapt over many years to that planet. That's why they're so determind to get their homeworlds back too.

So to say the quarians are the 'worst' race is totally unjustified.

.
Small talk.
.
You are just repeating what I said in a way that it's look better for the Quarians.

No, he didn't. You should practice reading.

The Quarian fleet is considered to be a formidable fighting force, even if they don't have the ability to maintain a long-term campaign.

I don't think that the Quarian fleet could do much damage against the Reapers. Kal'Reegar may be just a "point a shoot" guy, but I guess that if he thinks that the Quarians wouldn't have a chance against the Geth, then it's probably an honest assessment of the actual capabilities of the Quarian fleet.

The Quarians have never been a 'nice' race, in fact they are pretty arrogant (especially when it comes to their tech skills) and that has been their downfall. I wouldn't be surprised if Admiral Xen makes a return in ME3 and we get then to deal with her idea of mass-hacking the Geth to take control of them....

I get the impression she wants to hack the geth to re-take the quarian worlds, and then maybe treat herself to a few new ones...

Yes because Kal is talking about all the logistics and ground fighting that would be necessary to wage a war against the Geth. The Quarian fleet itself would still have a lot of striking power as a single entity. If a war against the Reapers turns into anything but a decisive victory than EVERYONE is screwed.

Not if shepard gives them the reapers schematics. This is the key to victory in ME 3. You start of with the weapon you need.

In ME3, will we get to kill our first Quarian? That will leave Elcor, Volus, Hanar, and Drell.

Bear in kind that the Quarians tale covers only 3 centuries - Given that they accidentally released a new threat on the entire galaxy it is not at all surprising that everyone repudiates them - but consider those 3 centuries - surviving their own weakened immune systems - adapting and even thriving as a displaced people - their science is top notch - Tali's recruit mission shows quarian scientists aware of an issue that no one else even thought to look for - the loyalty mission showed that they are extremely competent - tali's argument with Legion foreshadows the quarians brilliance - if war with the geth comes the quarians may well win - also consider the quarians ethos - even among themselves, stranded in space they are debating their 'moral' obligations to the geth - which they created !

I strongly suggest you look a little deeper into the entirety of the quarians - far from being the worst of the races - if the GETH are crucial to defeating the reapers - what does that say about the Quarians who created the geth ?
