If you actually expect a modern RPG to mirror the likes of Baldurs Gate 1, 2 , or Planscape -- you're just dreaming.

I have a dream..

I think that calling Dragon Age a failed product is a bit of exaggeration, since it is a great game just doesn't live up the hype, but the OP made valid points. The main enemy wasn't as good and interesting (in fact, it wasn't interesting at all), as the villians in previous BW games. I also agree, that DA2 will be the best RPG in the last decade, because Bioware will learn from its mistakes, and will listen to the feedback. They had to make a new universe, and a ruleset. In the next game, they will improve them, and if they can write a really good story, the game will be a blast.

hmm... failed ? that would indiciate It did not sell... It did sell.. and It Is great..

FYI: ( considering your abuse of the word "fail" Im assuming you know the meaning of FYI )

just because It did not meet your own twisted expectations does not mean it "failed".. It was a sucsess.. could it have been more of a sucsess? Sure I guees It could.. but It sure as hell did not fail...

Now, save your rage for the 1337 forums or what ever.

VOCABULARY NAZ1: Jumbled grammar does not equal no grammar.

And the number of angry fanpeople in this thread is quite shocking.

Your rant would hold more water if you registered your games and prove you actually own it.

Whether he owns the game or not is neither your business nor anyone else's.

Why people take it upon themselves to demand registration of other people's games is beyond me.

well there his own ideas and all should be taken under consideration he was just speaking from the mind, the game was great from my prespective but theres always ways it can be better. everyone has there ideas, i find it interesting to think of having a different boss other than the archdemon it was still a cool boss but it could always be better.

From what I read of people's comments I think I may have been too hard on the game it self, all should know that I do in fact love the game, and are playing it as I write this comment. I just can't get my self to say it is the greatest game ever and a true spiritual successor of Baldurs gate.

Also my reasoning for making this thread is so we can stop mindlessly praising the game and instead voice our concerns.

On a sidenote someone wrote that the title of the thread is wrong, however looking on all the discussing this thread has brought I think the title was very well chosen :)

3 pages in a day -- you call that good?

Especially since half of page 1 is about your idiotic mistake about SoZ.

Wow, because people don't make mistakes ever. He made a mistake about SoZ, so what? And 3 pages in a day is quite good. The only problem with his post, is that he used the wrong word. He should have used the term disappointed instead of failed.

He said the post must be good because he got up to three pages. Discount the posts due to his own stupidity and it isn't three pages.

As for whether two pages in a day is any good,. it depends on which two pages, doesn't it? It looks like a weak thread to me. There have been interesting threads about what DA did or didn't do wrong, but this isn't one of them.

Don't mind the troll who only seeks to discredit me, I wonder if it is just for the joy or if he is one of the other mindless fan boys that does not want to discuss anything.

If Loghain were the main villian, I think DA would've been a more well-rounded rpg. I'm getting kind of tired of the cliched villians that are ruthless and blah, blah, blah. The ones that you automatically know are villians.

I want a villian that you can empathize with, or one that really sneaks up on you at your weakest moment. Understand the reasons behind his deeds, and then decide whether to kill him or not. I thought Loghain was almost perfect except for the fact that the game wasn't meant to revolve around him.

If Alistair were the villian, then I would praise BW for really taking it home and thinking outside of the box; although, this has been done before in movies and other works. Looking at all the forums about how wonderful Alistair is, a whole lot of women would've been victims of Alistair's treachery. Still, BW made a pretty good storyline with the outcome...

I just hope the next DA isn't about another blight. They would really be tiring out the subject if they lean back on blights. I would rather the next DA revolve around maybe another warden revolt or something like that...

to sum up the arguments in this thread:

you don't like dragon age/you think it failed - you are automatically a troll and your opinion does not matter

you like dragon age/you think it was a success - you are automatically a fan boy and your opinion does not matter

did i miss anything there?

No one cares about your rant. Half of your post isn't even on topic and should be removed from here.

I agree.

Besides, if you think Darkspawns are just weak enemies, then devs just could create more powerful variation/mutations. There's no need to completely erradicate them and create a new nemesis.

Plus, dragons aren't precisely easy to kill. They can easily wipe you out even if you've a lvl 35 char if you don't use some sort of tactic.

Wha... am I missing something here? The OP hasn't actually said anything heinous, yet he is being flamed to Hell and back and told that his post should be removed? Who do you people think you are?!

Shocking. Truly shocking.

Indeed, I've seen dozens of these posts over the last week. I suspect they're EA agents or something, using the ole guilty until proven innocent mentality and automatically assuming anyone who hasn't got an activation key stamped on their forehead is a no good filthy pirate.

I'm kidding of course, actually they're just gits.

I agree. That's why I was disapointed with Logain he is voiced by the same actor (simon Templeman) that voiced the greatest villan/hero ever in Kain. It's funny that Logain actually looks like the human Kain and was just about as ruthless just not as smart. Still he's my avatar so that says speaks on how much I think templeman rocks
