Ok I've found tutorial after tutorial on how to script this or that ... but they all assume that you actually KNOW how to open the script editor, which *none* of them tell you how to do.

I understand that it's a "n00b" question, but for all intents and purposes I'm starting at ground zero here. I've found several of the scripts within the toolset, but they are all read only ... I'm attempting to include a character generation string at the start of a module, but for the life of me I do not know how to edit any existing scripts for the module I've created.

So, my questions are this:

1) How do I open the script editor?

2)Once open, how do I (in laments terms as best you can please) trigger a character generation event at the start of the module. Thanks in advace.

1a) Select File > New > Script from the main menu
1b) Right-click on the palette window and select New > Script from the context menu

2) http://social.biowar...cter_generation

Thanks Sunjammer, I'm sure I have hundreds of questions to come in the future, I always try to get info from sources such as wiki before i ask in the forums, here's to hoping I don't have too many more snags, a fool's hope, but a hope nonetheless.

You can also right click in the palette window and duplicate the script that comes closest to what you want to do. I learn from both building a script up block by block, and by tweaking existing scripts. I have no formal training in the scripting language, but the basic logic is easy to follow, and the scripters are among the most active on this forum. You'll get lots of help. Going through the tutorials step by step, even if they're not functions you think you'll want, is amazingly helpful.
