first i was very dissapointed about the whole RTO thing for ps3 and i read alot in the forums about awakening before and while i played it

many ppl complain about bugs and the entire addon but i really have to say i dont understand them

i just finished awakening and it isnt at all that bad like everyone is yelling
i found one major bug at the beginning which you can avoid easily, but the rest of the game just ran ok if you oversee some minor graphik bugs and the fact that i couldnt find all pieces of 2 armor sets (one was the mage one "wisdom" something else, and the black rogue one but meh im warrior with my main so hirols blah was good enouth and thats some really nice piece in look and stats)

so where was i? ah right .. the story is a little big thin but all in all its a great addition and imo worth its money, gave me fun for atleast 20 hours

the only thing i was sad was thats its over already, it has a really great potential and i wished the story were deeper and i would have had more time, way more time to "learn to know?" the companions like velanna and anders better

the companions have also a great deal of potential which imo was a little bit wasted in a small add on but shows the quality bioware produces

in total and to cut short i really like awakenings its a great addition to the game with much fun and really nice and beautiful areas especially kal hirol looks really nice

so despite all "haters" keep your work bioware, RTO was a "bad happening" but you excused it a big bunch with awakenings

hope to get a new DLC or addon soon ^^ thanks and happy programming guys!!

For the love of...

People are "haters" because they are playing a game riddled with serious bugs and complaining about it? People are "haters" because they are irritated that DLC content does not transfer over? People are "haters" because the expansion does not actually add anything new to Origins?

Listen, I am glad you liked it. More power to you. I am also glad that you had a largley bug free experience. Many of us did not, and many of us feel that the title was unpolished and rushed to the shelves. That does not make us "haters". It simply means we have an opinion. No more, but also no less valid than your own.

I'm having a grand time with Awakening. Apart from being unable to trigger Sigrun's quest I haven't seen a single bug anywhere.

And as for Awakening "not adding anything new to Origins", that's just silly. It adds 20+ hours of gameplay, raised level cap, a whole mess of new items, spells, skills and talents and new companions. If that's not adding something new, what would you say qualifies?

There is way, WAY too much whining on these forums.

It adds absolutely nothing new to Origins. It's really as simple as that. It adds a new campaign you can play, but to the original Origins game, it does not add anything new. The new items, skills, talents, companions and level cap are not available in the Origins campaign.

I had the same opinion as you. I played it again last night and while I still love it, I re-thought my opinion somewhat. You have to admit that there are some things that just betray laziness or lack of attention to detail. For one thing, the crafting system. This is sort of indisputable. Paragon and Masterpiece Silverite and [insert other rune I'm forgetting here] which are supposed to be weapon runes are listed as armor runes while Cold Iron and [another one I'm forgetting] do nothing at all. They couldn't even arrange the runes by type and instead are organized randomly. Stacked items such as Blank Runestones are counted as 1 item in the inventory while runes are counted as 1 each. Therefore, if I wanted to make a Paragon rune, I would need 32 (novice runes) + 1 (Runestones) + 1 (Etching Agents) = 34 slots in my inventory. Also, I don't know if this was a bug or just carelessness on my part, but it seems some rune tracings I bought don't appear when I'm crafting. It could be, however, that I thought I bought the tracings but actually didn't. Not sure.

I mention this specifically because while not everyone experiences the same bugs, the crafting system is present in everything. It doesn't hamper the actual crafting but it does make it incredibly inconvenient especially if your character doesn't have the rune skill and you have to exit the keep each time to use Anders.

Totally agree with OP.

I have finished my first playthru and take the second when next patch will release. When some bugs cleaned there is no complaining in this adventure.

Yes, end came too soon. Same problem with every good games also in OC and after 70h. This one continues the main story and then I lived happily ever after. ...until next expansion. Happy to see forward. BW hasn't failed, there is still lots of us who like Awakening and other who are still playing without posting opinions of the game.

Whiners are always the loudest. The reason is people who are happy with a product tend to see no need to be loud.

I'm not through Awakenings yet (I think about a 3rd) but so far I really dig it. I'm on XBox360, had one minor bug with triggering a fight seen thing, but other than that things have been stellar and the mood and story is dark and fun.

It's totally worth the $$$!

I don't know about that, I've seen plenty of loud supporters as well.

People wouldn't "whine" so much if they didn't care about the game, but they obviously do and that's why they try to appeal to BioWare with complaints about the gameplay, balance, bugs, etc. which actually helps improving the game for you and everyone else if the devs listen to them.

They have the courage to tell what's wrong with the product instead of chocking everything down like pigs and begging for more afterwards.

Reminds me of Kobe Bryant fans who claim he is flawless and the best basketball player ever despite the fact the statistics do not reflect the claim, and if you don't agree, you are a hater.

Wrong, DAO fans do not call it flawless.  I am well aware of the bugs.  I am a realist, and I understand there are bugs in ALL SOFTWARE.

The haters are simply E RAGING asstards who name call and spam.  They believe any bug of any kind means they should get a full refund.  Good luck with that.

I enjoyed awakenings except for the ending...why does it take you back to the bit where the mother dies over and over again...yes i know you can exit the game not to see it again but why wasnt there a proper end save like in Origins?

The ending movie was also pretty bad. You kill the mother with one poke and then jamming it down her throat or with two pathetic bolts and just storm off. Other than this i loved all of Awakenings and never encountered half the bugs so many rant about.

sorry if you are discussing on this low niveau I have no doubt that the low awakening niveau fits perfectly to you.

awakening is an completely unfinished product in design, bugs and story. Sorry but I hate a bad npc design. Some npcs looked like if they were generated randomly. Also I hate hack and slay adventures and that is what awakening is.

Then don't play it and don't come on it's forum just to moan about it and say its a "completely unfinished product in design, bugs and story".

I didn't say you did. I'm just posting my opinion that there is very little point in moaning about it. Don't even try to pull the pathetic excuse that your giving feedback because if you truly were then feedback includes the things you did like about the game and i really doubt that you thought that every single aspect of the game was bad.

Why does it have to be split like this? So black and white? It seems like people who love Awakening and say so are derided as "fanboys" while those that either did not like the game or complain about the multitude of bugs are labeled as "whiners" or "haters"?

By this point there are a ton of threads both pro and anti Awakening, with people acting like frothing lunatics from both sides. If you bought the expansion and enjoyed it, and either are not encountering or do not mind the bugs I am happy for you. Seriously. I am glad that you have a product that you enjoy. That being said, I don't think that my explaining the problems I have with the title (whether they be technical or personal opinion) should make me a "whiner".

Your argument sounded reasonable and i wouldn't label you as a "whiner". Those that insult others who liked the game and argue against everything they say are.

Does the opposite hold true though? Those that mindlessly defend the title and insult those that do not, would you say that they are "fanboys"?

I would say that the opposite should hold true but sadly it doesn't and many just randomly insult people because they said they didnt like the game even with justified answers. I also think this is true for "whiners" who do not acknowledge some of the good points and "fanpeople" who do not acknowledge the bad points.

The pot calling the kettle black?

I don't get that one.
