So I bought awakening for another platform - since I figured I might as well not bother waiting for transgaming bioware ea or whom ever you want to blame for no expansion news - support or what have you.

I bought the offical guide - more because I like the screenshots - but anyway I notice on the front cover. For Pc - MAC - Ps3 - Xbox 360.

I wonder if Mike Searle - the authour did that as sick joke or he actually thought the expansion would come out for mac.

Just thought I would point that out.  I would love to pay on my macbook pro - so much better than the console version.

I wonder - does this now qualify as false advertising?...

...or someone used the cover for Origins and overenthusiastically used the copy and paste button. But here's to hoping.

So -

The Origins guide didn't have Mac on it and it came out on Mac, and the Awakening guide has Mac on it - which would logically mean it won't come on Mac.

Or are we confused? Where's my Lyrium dust...

That guide is printed months before the game ever comes out. Evidently the plan was to release if for Mac, but it looks as if poor marketing may have driven too many Mac users to buy the PC version, cannibalizing Mac version sales. So those of us who did buy for Mac are likely S.O.L. now unless we too turn against our platform of choice and settle for second best.

I wonder if this isn't like the Neverwinter Nights charade.... Where it took the mac developer FOREVER to finally get around to releasing the expansions, and by that time us mac users already figured out how to port the expansions ourselves. I'm not beyond trying to manually install the expansion when I get my hands on it. It'll probably work to given Bioware's historical philosophy to game design. :)

The difference is, we don't know where the hang-up is. It could be EA, could be Bioware, could be Transgaming. And since TG is the most talkative of the 3 (in that they at least respond...), we'll never know.

Oh I agree not sure who it is to blame and that yes the guide is printed ahead of time I just found it interesting.

I agree with Marvin's logic.

Hi, just want so share the answer I got from transgaming:

----------------------------------------

Thanks for taking the time to write to us. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the first Dragon Age

game! We are certainly happy to bring such a great game to the Mac community.

We are working with BioWare to finalize more material for Dragon Age, including the

expansion. Unfortunately, we're not able to comment on dates just yet. Please stay tuned though!

Best regards,

In my optimistic ears this does not sound so bad, doesn't it?
