I've only found one other reference to this via Google, so I am assuming it's PS3-only...

Rock Mastery is supposed to synergize with Archery, including an aim speed bonus.

Well, it's doing just the opposite right now...caused bow attacks to take 2-3 times as long (which, in the case of Aim, can essentially mean you never fire).

It's not just the main character either...archers like Leliana are affected. Took me a while to figure out WTF was going on until I switched Shale to Stoneheart mid-combat and PRESTO! the problem went away.

Since I basically was building a crit-cunning-bard archer with "Shale the Buffer" this turned out to be a major bummer.

I put in a trouble ticket with EA just now, was wondering if anyone else has any info, or there is another thread I missed?

I've noticed this, too, and I would be interested to know as well.

I've created a build solely to take advantage of shale and his rock mastery. I'm also extremely bummed and I'm hoping for a fix; wishful thinking I know...

yeah, same thing happens with archery if you have a mage with haste on, or using a swift salve. More info can be found on the wiki here - dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Ranged_Attack_Speed_Bugs

even if they fixed the speed issue, console bows are still broken as they do 40% less damage than their PC counterparts, and crossbows are still fubar'ed :(

Hopefully in 1.05(if there is ever going to be a 1.05)

As far as your information goes, although it applies to console versions, it is directed at PC versions. This is a seperate glitch found only on the consoles wherein Shale's rock mastery is completely broken. The same thing DOES NOT happen if you use haste or swift salves. If you do not have the console version then I do not know how you could replicate the effects so you have a better understanding of what I'm talking about but imagine, all exaggeration aside, holding your bow drawn but not shooting for at least 5 seconds.

Also, what is this you're talking about bows still being broken? Are you getting your information from the forums without checking the dates in which they were posted. Most of them were addressing the fact that the patch 1.04 was not released on the console versions of the game. It was released fairly recently, July 27th I believe, so I would assume that the sources you are pulling information from are complaining of the lack of patch for console gamers. Please, correct me if I'm wrong and let me know if the bug still exists, perhaps through pm as it is a bit off-topic.

As far as I can tell, daggers were the only dexterity-based weapon fixed in 1.04. It's great the daggers were fixed but I really wish they would fix bows next. In fact, I don't think crossbows get any damage bonus period. C'mon Bioware, ranged weapons are very gimped right now.
