Ok. So it's ok to show multiple boobs on the mother who looks like Marilyn Manson, and show beheadings in this game, but Morrigan who goes around braless decides to put one on when we have sex?
I just wanted to add, in my first Awakening playthrough I called my husband over to check out the Broodmother and he said "Your final boss is Marilyn Manson?"

Morrigan always had a bra on, WTF do you think those straps are for in the middle of her chest?
Funny how it changes to a different bra when she takes off her top, though!
And BioWare must have had the US market in mind: here, the most grotesque violence is A-OK, but show a nipple and suddenly the Republic is in danger of collapse!

ROFL. I know right? It's not even about "ZOMG let's have teh bewbs!", it's more about going with the flow of the sex scenes and being realistic.Stabbath123 wrote...

That's the problem with the ESRB in the U.S. here.Apparently it's OK to watch alot of violence but it's not OK to show the naked human body in a tasteful manner UNLESS it's blown to bits?:blink:But it's understandable that gaming companies have to watch themselves lest they get sued by some irate parent who bought a M rated game for their 12 year old (which is BS!).And then they blame the game companies when it's the parents' own fault.
IMO, if we're 18+ and we buy a game that is rated M, we should be able to see nudity if it's part of the game.
And the message we're getting: Sex is bad. Violence is good.
Pffht!

I saw a line in the middle of her chest. Got a new graphics card and it went away.

Its inconsistent. The God of War games show rampant nudity. As did Conan.
This decision was kind of confusing, ALTHOUGH the scene is quite gratuitous (and ridiculous considering they are wearing Underwear)

Apparently it's not only "violence good; sex bad" but it's also "male superior good; female orgasms bad." There's some really weird rating trends.

Out of all the 18+ games (UK ratings) I own, I can say with certainty that Dragon Age is the only one that doesn't warrant it. I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just baffled as to why this got slapped with an 18+. Mass Effect had more nudity, that has a 12+ certificate over here. I've heard worse swearing on daytime television, and the violence is a 15+ AT BEST.
Bioware was saying that they were making an M rated/18+/whatever game for years before release. It was something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. That said, there's a few scenes in it that I can see earning it an M rating in the US. I don't know about Europe.

Well, for whatever reason, Fox News didn't run a special on those developers for pedaling pornography like they did for Mass Effect when Bioware let anyone who was supposed to be over the age of 17 see half of a boob in a seven second sex scene.
Let's be honest though, if parents aren't willing to buy their 13-16 year old sons "mature" rated video games, video game developers, Bioware not excluded, are going to lose money. So covering up Morrigan's chest with a nanny bra during her sex scene was simply good business practice. Any publicity might be good publicity for hollywood, but if your story driven RPG-Shooter is getting flack from the number one news station in the US for being sexual, you'd probably rather prefer no publicity at all.
The inconsistency, as others have already said, is that in America it is perfectly ok for teenagers to see heads exploding in slow motion, but remind a teenage boy that the female body can be sexual and you've committed an act against God and the State. The other inconsistency that the people who work and watch Fox don't ever address is that the average age for teenagers to lose their virginity in public high schools nowadays is probably under 17. So your kids are having sex but they aren't allowed to see half of an alien boob.

Yep! Too strange to comprehend. Maybe we'll get some clarification from the uppers on this train of reasoning. I say: if it's labeled MA, and we're all aware, then there shouldn't be any ridiculous censorship that just leaves us asking questions like these down the road. But I do think it would be funny to see the Mother strapped up with 8 sets of peach w/black trim bras ranging in size from 34c to 186EEEEEEEEEEEEE.

It would have been because of all the blood and possibly some of the darker themes like the broodmother reproduction and rape of city elves.Drake Sigar wrote...
